Mother's Day is all about mom. Show mom how much you love her by making her this beautiful hyacinth flowers. This is a quick and easy craft to make for mom. There are three different ways you can create these flowers, allowing children of any age to participate in creating this present for mom. Paint on the free template provided for a quick weekend activity.

To make these hyacinths gather a bunch of q tips and secure them in the middle with a rubber band. Choose any color for you hyacinths, they can be purple, pink, white or blue.

I recommend showing your child a picture of hyacinth flowers or better yet, let them see the real flowers. You may have them in your garden or somewhere in your neighborhood. If no, stop by a store with a garden center. They are truly a beautiful flower.

To begin use a q tip or paintbrush to create stems for the flowers using green paint.

Then, dip the bundle of q tips in paint to make the flowers. Make the flower in a rounded oval shape.

Use green paint to paint stems and leaves on the provided template. I recommend printing the paper on cardstock.

Next, let your child use their fingerprints to create the shape of the flower on each stem.

Washable Marker Hyacinth Flowers

Using washable marker, draw small star shaped flowers in the oval shape of the hyacinth flower.

Now, use a q tip dipped in water. This will cause the marker ink to spread. As you continue the hyacinth flower will appear.

To add more details, you can also use a yellow marker in the center of the flower blossom. You can also use a white gel pen to add details to the flowers.

Lastly, add stems and leaves with a green marker.
