DYI McKenzie Child inspired pumpkin

Have you seen the McKenzie Child pumpkins that are trending this year? I love how adorable they are and add a decorative touch to your home Halloween decor. However, I cannot afford the hefty price tag! So I set out to make my own. I started out purchasing a mini black foam pumpkin from Michaels.

I began by creating a checkered pattern on the pumpkin. I used an acrylic paint pen to create my pattern. After, I painted the squares in a black or white pattern. You can use paint pens or acrylic paint. You can however, use any colors you like.

Color in the checkered pattern with paint pens or paint.
When completed, use a gold paint pen or paint to paint the stem.

This is a fun craft you can create for a girls craft night or a family craft project. It is easy enough to create, I even had some mistakes and mine still turned out great! Display it in your home for Fall/Halloween after you are home.
