Busy Little Squirrel

Busy Little Squirrel
Complete this writing and art project to go along with The Busy Little Squirrel

This fall pick up a fun book to read aloud with your child. "The Busy Little Squirrel" by Nancy Tafuri is a great fall story about a busy squirrel. Squirrel is so busy getting ready for winter he has no time to stop and spend time with any of his friends.

After reading, complete this fun and easy art project. To start this project, explore sponge painting. Your child will love using a sponge to add paint all over the paper. You can let your child choose any colors they would like for the background. I chose to use fall colors, but the choice it's up to your child.

After painting your background, create a simple tree on brown paper. After drawing, cut out the outline of the tree. Add details to the tree with black marker.

Next, glue the tree onto the background paper. After, glue the squirrel onto the tree branch.

To finish, add a sentence about what squirrel was doing. Have your child complete the sentence, The bust squirrel _____________. Allow your child to complete the sentence with any word/words they would like to. After completing the sentence, add the paper to the bottom on the art.
